Since returning to Malaysia after undergraduate studies at the Royal College of Music, London and postgraduate studies in Italy, Bang Hean has performed in most major concert venues back home and has appeared in solo recitals, chamber concerts as well as concerto performances with various orchestras, including the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. His performances have brought him to various countries including the UK, Italy, Hong Kong, Korea, Indonesia, Brunei, Cambodia and Singapore.

Bang Hean is an adjunct lecturer at the Institute of Music, UCSI University, and is often invited to adjudicate and conduct masterclasses both locally and internationally. He has taken up the role as an artistic consultant as well as the head of jury to festivals and competitions around the region, whilst various tertiary music institutions frequently invite him to be their external examiner. As an educator, he presented extensively for the ABRSM examination board, with seminar tours bringing him to various parts of Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Middle East and India. He is regularly invited to conduct both online and physical seminars on various pedagogical and pianistic topics around Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and China.
