Yong Sue Yi is a distinguished piano performer and educator with a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, which she completed in 2010, under the tutelage of Ms Marian Hahn. She also holds a Bachelor of Music (Hons.) in Piano Performance from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music at the National University of Singapore, awarded in 2008, under the tutelage of Mr Albert Tiu.
A recipient of full scholarships from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music for both her undergraduate and master’s programs, Yong Sue Yi’s talent has been consistently recognized. She was the Second Prize Winner of the Inaugural HSBC Classics Piano Competition in 2008 and a Finalist in the Conservatory Piano Concerto Competition in 2007.
Her professional life is rich with teaching and adjudicating experience. She is currently an Adjunct Lecturer at the UCSI University and also a member of the Piano Faculty in Bentley Music Academy. She is a sought-after adjudicator for numerous competitions, including the International Liszt Ferenc Competition and the UCSI International Piano Festival and Competition. She also conducts piano masterclasses, sharing her expertise with a new generation of musicians.
