Through this Piano Festival and Competition, we aim to raise the musical standards within the country and region by providing opportunities for young musicians to perform before a panel of well-established international and local pianists and get constructive feedback from the adjudicators. This will also provide a platform for young musicians to perform in public and grow in their performing experience, as well as to promote and create awareness of classical piano music among the general public.
Welcome to our 2nd UCSI University International Piano Festival and Competition 2016!
In 2014, our Institute of Music became an independent unit within UCSI University, with the vision and aspiration of becoming a leading music institute within the region. To advance the music education in Malaysia and the region, we wish to create a platform for young and budding musicians to showcase their talents and celebrate their accomplishments, as well as to meet fellow musicians who share the same passion and commitment for music. Hence this festival and competition, through which we hope all participants will be inspired and benefit from the process of preparing, competing and receiving constructive comments from the judges. This experience will build their character and prepare them for the many challenges in real life as they mature and develop into the next generation of leaders in all fields, not just music. To enrich the experience for all, IPFC2016 will also feature a number of concerts, masterclasses and seminars by the final-round judges during the week when we hold our semi-final and final rounds of the competition in June 2016.Read More
