Jaz Tan graduated from University of Western Ontario, Canada with a Master of Music degree under full scholarship and graduate assistantship. She specializes in piano, harp and aural skills education. She was formerly Assistant Professor, working as the Head of Classical Music Degree Program in UCSI University, Kuala Lumpur. She now works as adjunct lecturer coaching piano at the university. She is also appointed the branch manager of Rave Harps KL Centre, overseeing harp education in Klang Valley, Malaysia.


Apart from being a solo pianist and harpist, she also works as a collaborative musician and performed in many choral, opera and musical events/productions. Jaz Tan has adjudicated international and local piano competitions and conducted masterclasses and workshops. Among those were adjudicator for an International Music Festival in Indonesia (2015), UCSI International Piano Festival & Competition (2018 and 2020), 2nd & 3rd E-Artium Piano Competition and Festival (2022/2023) and Singapore Raffles International Music Festival (2023).


With proven teaching guidance and coaching skills, Jaz has guided many young musicians, often scoring distinctions in music exams and receiving awards in local and international competitions. In recent years, she has reached out to many families providing quality early childhood music education and nurturing a new generation of musicians.
