Assistant Professor Ysan Suit Yin is the Head of the Classical Music Degree at UCSI University. She is a very dedicated teacher, and her academic achievements are mainly in teaching, ATCL (Teaching), LTCL (Teaching), LRSM (Teaching) and she was one of the first in Southeast Asia to be awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Schools of Music (FRSM) in teaching. Suit Yin currently also holds the role of examiner for the Classical & Jazz panel, Trinity College of London.


While living in London, Suit Yin studied with Professor Vanessa Latarche, late Professor Dr. Colin Kingsley, late Dennis Lee and Toh Chee Hung. Suit Yin received an exemption from undergraduate study, hence a place was offered in London College of Music with bursary for a Master’s Degree study under the guidance of Piano Professor Andrew Zolinsky. Her teachers also included Simon Rigby, Philip Mead and Dr. Anna McCready.


Suit Yin is frequently invited to be the adjudicator in the UCSI International Piano Festival and Competition since 2014 till present day. She was also invited to adjudicate the Asia International Piano Competition in 2015, and periodically adjudicate Piano Competition in High Schools in Malaysia. Since 2018, she was frequently invited to judge piano competition and presented piano masterclasses in Indonesia and Singapore.


Suit Yin contributed a write-up "Tribute to Professor Dr. Colin Kingsley" to European Piano Teacher-Piano Professional-spat UK and was published in the April 2021, Issue 56. Suit Yin performed in the Free Hand 2022: 2nd Malaysian Contemporary Composers Piano Festival. Recently, she had a joint recital with Mathias Boegner, a German/Swiss violinist at UCSI University and at SOTA recital hall in Singapore.
