Cheong Yew Choong

Cheong Yew Choong holds his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctorate Degrees from West Virginia University (USA). He was awarded graduate assistantships from WVU, tuning and maintaining Steinway pianos at the Music Department. His teachers include Prof. Dr. Peter Amstutz and Prof. Dr. P’ng Tean Hwa. Despite severely-impaired hearing, Yew Choong has garnered numerous prizes.

Lim Pei Sien

Lim Pei Sien is known for her aptitude to collaborate well with other musicians. She has performed in recitals and music festivals in Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, Austria and the USA as a chamber musician as well as a soloist.Pei Sien is an alumna of Sedaya College (now known as UCSI University). After obtaining her doctorate degree, she worked as a full-time teaching staff at UCSI University from 2005 – 2013.

Thomas Linde

Since accepting a faculty position at Tunghai University in Taichung, Taiwan, Thomas Linde has been active as a pianist, having performed throughout Taiwan, Canada, China, the United States, Japan and Malaysia. As a teacher, he has served as a visiting professor at Eastern Michigan University, has conducted masterclasses in Asia, the United States and Europe and has taught at summer music festivals in Prague and Amalfi

P'ng Tean Hwa

P’ng Tean Hwa has appeared in numerous public concerts as a soloist as well as collaborative pianist in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea, Hungary, and the USA. As a clinician, he has presented numerous lectures, workshops, and seminars to both piano teachers and the general audience, and conducted many masterclasses. He is frequently invited to serve as a guest examiner and also to adjudicate competitions, including the 2nd Thailand Mozart International Competition.

Iswargia Renardi Sudarno

Iswargia Renardi Sudarno was born in Bandung, Indonesia, and started his piano lesson there at the age of eleven, with Mrs. Wibanu, Partosiswojo, John Gobée and Oerip S. Santoso. After finishing his bachelor degree in architecture at the Bandung Institute of Technology, he continued his musical education at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, USA, and completed his study with a Master of Music degree, under the tutelage of reknown pianist and pedagogue, the late Karl Ulrich Schnabel

Sylvia Wang

A native of Penang, Malaysia, Sylvia Wang serves on the piano and chamber music faculty of Northwestern University in the U.S. Her work as soloist, chamber musician, guest teacher and adjudicator has taken her across the U.S., Europe, Central and South America, Asia and Australia. Dr. Wang holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, and the Royal Academy of Music in London, including an honorary Associateship for "distinction in the field."

Lucas Wong

Praised for his "masterful, pleasure-giving performances," (Fanfare Magazine) and musical achievements "prodigious enough to constitute the careers of a[t] least two or three people," Canadian pianist Lucas Wong is equally at home as a soloist, chamber musician, pedagogue, and répétiteur. His expertise in French music interpretation has led to his own Mostly Debussy lecture-recital series, publication about "Humour in Late Debussy" in The Musical Times

Chan Wei Tuck

Chan Wei Tuck has performed and collaborated with pianist Lucas Wong, flutist Roberto Álvarez and Zephyr Flute Ensemble, and violinist Goh Chia-Chien and Tomislav Dimov. He has also appeared in concert performances as a member of the West Virginia University's Symphony Orchestra, Wind Symphony, University Choir, Men's and Women's Choir, and the Choral Union. In addition, he has accompanied choir ensembles and vocalists in masterclasses, recitals, state and national level competitions in Malaysia

Su-yen Chee

Malaysian pianist Su-yen Chee has established herself both as a soloist and chamber musician. She has given solo and collaborative recitals in the United States, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Korea, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.

Hee jung Choi

Hee jung Choi, a Korean pianist residing in Malaysia, obtained her Master Degree from Western Illinois University where she was awarded with the Graduate Assistant Award. While at WIU, Hee Jung has won the concerto competition as a soloist one year and as a trio ensemble in the year after. Subsequently, she was admitted into the University of Iowa post-graduate program as a recipient of the prestigious John Simms Piano Award and Graduate Assistantship.

Chong Chooi Foong

A native of Kajang, Malaysia, Chooi Foong graduated from Goldsmiths College, University of London with Masters of Music in Performance and Related Studies. Both a skilful researcher and performer, she studied piano under Ng Chong Lim and Cheong Yew Boon in Kuala Lumpur prior to working with Andrew Zolinsky during her studies in London.

Lee Yin Hwa

A native of Malaysia, Lee Yin Hwa, obtained his Bachelors and Masters from Western Illinois University, and a one-year post-graduate study at Boston University under the Dean’s scholarship. His principal teachers include Prof. Anthony Di Bonaventura, Prof. Dr Michael Campbell and James Magsig. Yin Hwa was the 3rd prize winner at the 1st Brevard Music Festival piano competition in North Carolina, and concerto competition winner at Western Illinois University

Carolyn Lo

Born in Kuala Lumpur, Carolyn was offered a full graduate assistantship from Miami University, Ohio to pursue a Masters in Piano Performance and successfully graduated in 2011. She also holds the LRSM and FTCL performance diplomas as well as a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Newcastle, Australia. In 2015, she became the first Malaysian to be awarded the FRSM in piano performance with a distinction

Loo Bang Hean

Born in Ipoh, Malaysia, Bang Hean’s teachers in Malaysia include Serena Chow and Rickie Oui. He was the winner of the First National Mozart Piano Competition in 1987, and two years later a scholarship from the music examination board, ABRSM enabled him to study at the Royal College of Music (RCM), London.

Jaz Tan

az Tan is currently the Director of Elysee Music School at Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, specializing in piano, harp and Kindermusik education. She was formerly Assistant Professor, working as the Head of Classical Music Degree Program in UCSI University, Kuala Lumpur. She now works as part time lecturer coaching piano lessons at the university.Apart from being a solo pianist, she also works as a collaborative pianist and performed in many choral, opera and musical events/productions..

Tan Hui Sean

Tan Hui Sean earned her Advanced Certificate from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Bachelor degree from University of Maryland and Master degree from New York University. During her study abroad, she was a recipient of Eltermann Scholarship, Moses Asch Memorial Scholarship, Graduate Assistantship and Langley Fellowship. She performed regularly with the university’s Symphony Orchestra, UMBC Camerata, UMBC Collegium Musicum, NYU Collegium Musicum and La Salle Baroque Players (Singapore).

Kenneth Teh Kien Huat

A native of Petaling Jaya, Kenneth is a graduate of the Moscow State Conservatory named after Tchaikovsky, where he studied under Professor Natalia Trull. Whilst in Russia, he performed regularly in Moscow and St Petersburg. He collaborated in various ensembles with musicians from the Russian National Orchestra (RNO) and the chamber orchestra "Moskoviya", and also made appearances on stage

Mitra Alice Tham

Mitra Alice Tham’s first public performance was at the age of three and her international debut at the age of eight in Japan. Originally from Malaysia, she has won many prizes at international competitions, including the Rosario-Marciano Preis for the most eminent artist personality, the Russischer Musikpreis for the best interpretation of Russian music, the coveted title ‘The Excellent Player Award’ at the prestigious Asia Oceania Festival held in Thailand and the ‘Young Millennium Pianist’ of Singapore.

Joyce Wang

Joyce Wang, born in Taiwan and raised in Belize, received her DMA from West Virginia University, USA. Teachers include Christine Kefferstan, James Miltenberger, Yeeha Chiu, and William Skidmore. Her performances include solo and collaborative recitals and musical production accompanist of Into the Woods for Laurel Highland District of Pennsylvania ; the Faculty Artist Series at Frostburg State University, Maryland; Classical and Jazz Piano Festival and Competition, West Virginia University; the National Institute of Culture and History in Belmopan, Belize; International Flute Symposium; National Flute Association Convention at Las Vegas, Nevada, where she premiered Echoes of Narcissus (2010) for two piccolos and piano

Yong Sue Yi

Yong Sue Yi has received her Master of Music in Piano Performance from Peabody Conservatory of Music (USA) under the tutelage of Marian Hahn with full scholarship. She is the first Malaysian pianist graduating from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore, with a BMus degree (Honours) in Piano Performance. She was awarded a full scholarship under the tutelage of Albert Tiu for her four-year studies in the Conservatory. Sue Yi has worked as a chamber musician under the guidance of Dr. Thomas Hecht, Katherine Jacobson Fleisher, David Takeno, Zhang Jin Min, and Keng-Yuan Tseng.

Ysan Suit Yin

Assistant Professor Ysan Suit Yin is the Head of the Classical Music Degree at UCSI University. She is a very dedicated teacher and has been actively teaching since 1986. Her academic achievements are mainly in teaching, ATCL (Teaching), LTCL (Teaching), LRSM (Teaching) and she was one of the first in South East Asia to be awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Schools of Music (FRSM) in teaching by the Royal School of Music.
